Estonia has had a long and torrid history, having been ruled by several different empires in the past. Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Russia have all laid claims to our lands in the last few centuries.
Thanks to our conquered past, Estonia has a very multicultural feel to it. Just a few things you can experience in our country are meals in an authentic medieval German kitchen, wild Russian vodka parties or spend a weekend in a little red Swedish beach house.
For those who are looking to see something different in our country, you can get yourself hot and steamy at a sauna party (with ice hole included), get a taste of blood sausage and pea soup, climb up Suur Munamägi (our highest mountain 318m), ride on a snow sled or spend a quiet evening lost with friends in the middle of a lush green forest.
Whatever you decide to do in Estonia, you will definitely discover the Estonian nature. We have lots of it!

How can we describe ourselves?
Let’s see – a bit shy at first but make loyal friends once you get to know them.
Polite and trustworthy. Estonians are hard workers with a good sense of humor. Watch out since Estonians are very sarcastic.
But don’t take our word for it, now you will have the chance to find out what Estonians are really like for yourself!!!
About the climate
One thing you will have to get used to over here is our tropical climate – yeah, dream on!!! In Estonia we have four seasons – cold, colder, very cold and freezing (from an Australian point of view).
But seriously, our winters are cold, down to –20 degrees on occasions, but summer is a beautiful time of the year with very long days and extended periods of sunshine. Autumn and spring are like a lottery!
It does get very wet here so pack some warm clothes that will keep you dry.
Estonia has a population of about 1.36 million people. We have our own language, which has been voted the second sexiest language in the world! 
But it is also one of the most difficult languages to learn – trust us on this one! So, please see the vocabulary here!
